First, it might help to know what we're looking for! The possibilities are limitless. If you grew up in small-town America, currently live in a small town, or have a story about life in a small town. We want to hear from you.

After you've visited the "What Makes a Good Story" link, go to our Add Your Story Page. Choose what you want to do. Do you want to record your story on the web, do it from our iOS app, upload a photo or written story?

If you want us to publish a written story on the web, please check the box indicating that we have your permission to do so. If you want to tell the Smithsonian your story, but do not want it published on the website, that’s okay. Leave the box unchecked.
